Further Information
What’s the one thing that most busy parents will struggle to do when their children are on school holidays? Entertainment of course! That’s why here at Eastside Riding Academy, your local equestrian center based in Centennial Park in Sydney, we strive to offer a solution to all parents.
Rather than creating large groups, we prefer smaller ones, with a ratio of approximately 1 staff member to 5 children. This allows our coaches to focus on teaching individual students both riding and horsemanship skills, while ensuring the safety and comfort of all children present. During the Full Day Camp program, each rider will enjoy two exciting rides per day: one with a small group of other riders and another as a beautiful ride in Centennial Park (weather permitting).
A coach will be assigned to each group, with a variety of junior helpers and senior volunteers assisting the coach throughout all activities. They can help to answer any questions or provide further information to inquisitive children who want to explore the concept of horse riding a little more. We take care of the technicalities to make sure that lessons run as smoothly as possible while focusing on the enjoyment of our riders at all times.
When not riding, your children will have the opportunity to experience the daily routine of the stable yard, including how to care for horses and ponies, how to remain safe, grooming, tack and equipment, care activities, stable chores, and much more! We have no doubt that your kids will return home tired and happy after a day at the stable.
Although we will do everything that we can to ensure that your children remain safe and comfortable throughout their visit to our academy – there are a few things that you can do to help.
These include packing items such as:
- Lunch & filled water bottle;
- Hat, along with suitable clothing that matches the season;
- Sunscreen (especially if you’re planning on booking in summer);
- It is also worth packing an extra pair of socks, leggings, bottoms, or any other pants that may be comfortable. Please do not bring your child to camp wearing shorts.
Finally – your child will be so focused on having fun that they might forget to eat! We set aside time for the kids to enjoy a homemade packed lunch, before getting back to their exciting activities.
